Man, I'm so sorry to hear that Gabe Hudson is gone. We knew each other only a little bit, but once, the first time we met, we cackled in a corner at a party for like three hours straight, getting into all the dark corners and turning them glitter, then dark, then glitter again.

I wrote an essay for the British Library's extremely beautiful exhibition book, Realms of Imagination, edited by Tanya Kirk & Matthew Sangster. It's full of incredible writing about fantasy literature. My essay's about storytelling immortality in Beowulf. You want this book!

This comic grew out of an incredible class on adapting canonical works taught by Maria Dahvana Headley - I think about it all the time! (“Canonical works” in this case meaning The Canterbury Tales and Mr. Ed)
