#MIM2024 ! #CarlosDJOKO , a Ph.D. student at CRID, presented a study on the resistance of major African #malaria vector, Anopheles funestus, to #pyrethroids . The study revealed a rapid spread of the CYP9K1 454A resistant allele, impacting the effectiveness of bed nets.
Our Centre members London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine contributed to this crucial piece published by Nature Medicine on #WorldMalariaDay2024 🦟 highlighting the threat ART-R poses to malaria treatment & proposing actionable steps to address this challenge.
