By far the worst thing about teaching is when you look over assignments and there is obvious plagiarism of previous students work. I understand there are many reasons why this happens but it's so utterly disappointing 😔

Overpublishing puts enormous stress on students and PIs. And brings tons of money to publishers in STEM. A new study shows that the number of papers is increasing FASTER than the number of #PhD graduates. It’s an amazing work with very useful statistics. Huge kudos to the

First time I've had to dress formal for the first day of a conference. Also first time I've had a literal princess (and scientist in their own right) join the first day. #FAOBMB23

Trying to find a journal that either isn't OA or is covered by the Uni's OA agreements. The manuscript in trying to publish is great (bias I know) but I can't afford the US$6000 publishing fees to put it anywhere good. How are these new OA journal policies not harming science?
