“‘Blessed are they who mourn’…The tears that flow from the sorrow common to all men do not make anyone blessed. There is another cause for the sighs of the saints, another reason for their blessed tears. Religious grief mourns for sin, one’s own or another’s.” -St. Leo the Great

“The hunger of the Beatitudes is not for any bodily food, its thirst is not for any earthly drink: it is a longing to be blessed with righteousness, and by penetrating the secret of all mysteries, to be filled with the Lord himself.” -St. Leo the Great

“Our entire constitutional, political, and social order was corrupted by fifty years of Roe . . . The pedagogical result of a bad Supreme Court ruling, which was allowed to stand for so long, is the darkening of our national conscience.” firstthings.com/article/2024/1…

“The waters have risen and severe storms are upon us, but we do not fear drowning, for we stand firmly upon a rock. Let the sea rage, it cannot break the rock. Let the waves rise, they cannot sink the boat of Jesus.” -St. John Chrysostom
