Too much risk aversion in clinical practice.

Need to balance risk of harm to index patient from over-crowding & over-diagnosis

Wonder if we need to create standardised 'Harm from overcaution' metric?

After 3 years of being a consultant, my dect phone finally comes up on caller ID as “Nick Schindler” instead of “Resus Pre-Alert.”

I look forward to not freaking people out when I all them anymore, but I suspect I will miss how quickly everyone answered the phone 😂

Hi Wes Streeting MP, I have worked weekends since I left medical school 12 years ago. Now as a consultant I still work 1 in 6 weekends providing county wide tertiary advice in Yorkshire.

We don’t stop working on the weekends or the holidays, unlike MPs or Parliament 🙄
