The reviews are in for the Powerful Owl pellet analysis class Lucy, I and Andrew Dinwoodie did with the grade 5s: "Best lesson ever!!". It was so much fun, they were so wildly enthusiastic and interested. We'll have to do it again. Photos by Robert Schönherr.

Powerful Owlet sitting with (her?) papa in a suburban Brisbane Park. The nest hollow for these POwls is in a quite busy dog park. Having been there for some 5 weeks, they have now moved to a more secluded location in a large patch of bushland with a creek.

The Owlet's parents were again about 200m along the creek from the Owlet siblings. It appears that the adults are campaigning for the Owlets to move to the same area, but the Owlets are being resistant. The male adult is pictured here.

It looks like the Powerful Owl parents finally won the battle to get the Owlets to go to their preferred day roost 200m along the creek. The decisive factor may have been the brushie the adult male was displaying yesterday. Here the adult female & the two Owlets having a nap.

The Owlets must need at lot of feeding at the moment as this morning both of these adult Powerful Owl parents were displaying possums. This is the first time we've ever seen a POwl pair both displaying at the same time, & totally busts the myth that it is only males that display.
