It’s incredible how quickly modern journalists have embraced the idea that it’s okay to make unsupported accusations, ignore facts, or misquote, if they think they’re writing about a bad or undeserving person.

How are human samples collected in evolutionary and personality psychology?

A lot of people seem confused and incredulous to learn that very few samples are representative.

Some economists tried to reproduce the results of 67 economics papers and they pretty much couldn't do it:

Even with help from authors, only half of papers ended up being reproducible, and this was still a problem at journals with required reporting of code and data.

This is so lame. Columbia tuition is almost $70,000 a year. And yet the administration still can’t figure out how to handle a small, very loud group of protesters at the expense of the entire student body. A shame.

Given that *some* of the protestors have violated free speech principles (creating fortified encampments, taking over buildings, disrupting the speech of others, etc.), this is not a particularly meaningful observation per se.

Jody Rosen If you’re going to make a claim like this you should cite some examples. Personally I’ve seen many Harper’s letter signatories weigh in on the protests, but all asserting the importance of the protesters being allowed to speak, and I think you’re making things up

Jody Rosen I’m a signatory. I’ve publicly defended: protest, use of tents and public art, free expression (even some of the vile pro-Hamas stuff), and advised restraint in using police. I’ve denounced: protestors who restrict movements of fellow students, interference with others…

Jody Rosen Let's not move the goalposts just yet; I genuinely hoped to see evidence of an 'amazing' number of Harper's letter signatories arguing that protest should be banned in a way that would make them hypocrites. Am I correct to assume you do not have this
