The outcome was that not only A1C levels had decreased but also patients had lost weight with both kinds of drugs. The results are promising, however SGLT-2s have not been approved by the FDA yet. There are concerns relating to diabetic ketoacidosis diabetesforecast.org/2018/05-sep-oc…

A new injectable drug REMD-477 blocks glucagon. In a recent study, adults with type 1 diabetes received a single injection of the drug and others received a placebo injection. Under the same circumstances the patients received the same insulin injections. diabetesforecast.org/2017/sep-oct/n…

Promising results were seen in patients who received REMD-477 injections By the 4th day these patients required less insulin intake, about 26% less than patients in the placebo group. Their blood glucose was also lowered without an increase in hypoglycemia diabetesforecast.org/2017/sep-oct/n…

IST AG makes biosensors that measure the concentration of glucose, lactate, glutamine and glutamate. The biosensors use the enzymatic-amperometric measurement principle. They measure the concentration of immobilized enzymes to target other molecules. ist-ag.com/en-us/products…

As mentioned before, Smart Sox is another solution and treatment for diabetics. To prevent foot amputations researchers from University of Arizona created socks that contain pressure sensors, so that doctors can monitor potential feet problems. healthtechinsider.com/2014/06/19/sma…

These pictures of SmartSox demostrate the potential pressure differences that walking, running or different physical activities can have on the patient's foot. The use of these socks would potentially reduce possible infection or even amputation. healthtechinsider.com/2014/06/19/sma…
