When you commit to something you can't deliver on, you have one ethical option and two unethical ones. Ethical: renegotiate to reduce how much you've committed to. Unethical: cut quality of what you deliver, or cut your quality of life.

Key phrase here: the motivation benefits outweigh the isolation risks. So as a general practice, remote & hybrid are positive. For a given individual or team, that may not be true, but there's no business justification for blanket back to work policies.
