This season can cause a lot of folks some serious stress. So I figured now is a good time to reflect on #mentalhealth and equanimity. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/nav… Talkin' Politics & Religion Pod

In this case, as a young man, Gidi was in the room when Ehud Barak and Yasser Arafat were trying to negotiate peace among Israelis and Palestinians from 1999 - 2001. Gidi's life work since that time as a "societal entrepreneur" has continued to advance the cause of peace... 2/4

...and help solve some of society's most critical issues. I'm grateful to have been introduced to Gidi by our mutual friend Hagar Chemali of Oh My World! and to now know about his work. 3/4

I'm also grateful to share this conversation on the eve of Rosh Hashannah, the Jewish New Year, especially as we approach the grim anniversary of October 7th. 4/4

Some of yall might hate this but... Your arguments against #KamalaHarris aren't working. On the latest Talkin' Politics & Religion Pod we dissect whether the attacks on Kamala Harris are effective in maximizing turnout of “base adjacent" voters or persuading undecided voters? podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the…

Part 2 of the video of my most recent convo w/ Mike Madrid is up. It's always invigorating + informative talking to Mike. But be warned: He's not a guy who's just giving out "hopium." He calls it like he sees it. And the dude speaks from proven expertise! youtu.be/INvWpdHTJ8g?si…

I get asked almost every day, "Who's gonna win this election?" And while Carl Allen and I eschew the 1 word answer, we love the analysis. Fortunately, Carl is really good at this stuff! Here's where we do a deep dive into the key(stone) state of PA. youtu.be/Gx2Zo1FXSKk?si…

Carl Allen (@realcarlallen) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Talked to Talkin' Politics & Religion Pod about R politicians in support of Harris Corey Nathan mentioned it as "leading indicator" Now that I think about it I think it may be LAGGING indicator They feel safe enough to endorse because there's support for it Thoughts? politicsandreligion.us/e/carlallen_fo…

This is a good point. I hadn't thought about it that way, Carl Allen. Someone as savy as Liz Cheney would certainly have a sense about her own constituency and would want to represent their interests.

When I first started going to church in the early 2000s, I was taken aback by how many of my new Christian friends would put their political preferences first and back religion into those social and political passions. That just seemed backwards - and still does. 1/3

Who is my neighbor? “Our neighbors are not seen as fellow citizens, but as enemies to destroy... That is the essence of white Christian nationalism.” Jim Wallis (@revjimwallis.bsky.social) reminds us that Jesus shares a very different understanding of who our neighbors are. youtu.be/XL1qk3sE7ec?si…

Has there been anything that’s happened in recent days that’s fundamentally changed the course of this election? Would you believe that "trash talk" might be the October surprise that swings this race? 1/3
