On #WorldEnvironmentDay, Tourism Trinidad highlights one of our stakeholders, the El Socorro Centre for Wildlife Conservation (ECWC), dedicated to the conservation of wildlife in Trinidad & Tobago through education, rehabilitation and propagation.

The ECWC has success with the breeding (and releasing where appropriate) of birds, snakes, iguanas, agouti, opossum, and semi-aquatic turtles. They offer outreach to those interested in learning about our biodiversity, and the importance of conserving it: wildliferescuett.org

In celebrating Sustainable Gastronomy Day, we highlight Café Mariposa who provides a farm-to-table experience that is designed to reduce food miles for clients and reduce their carbon footprint. #TourismTrinidad

Last November, during Caribbean Tourism Month, we partnered with Angostura to promote eco-friendly tourism practices through the Sustainable Tourism Cask Repurposing Initiative. A total of 60 repurposed rum barrels were distributed to key stakeholders, including Cafe Mariposa.

It is with profound sadness that Tourism Trinidad shares the passing of our colleague and friend, Kheegon Daly.

Kheegon was an invaluable member of the Tourism Trinidad team, remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service in honour of his life will be held on Saturday, 19th April 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Curepe Presbyterian Church, followed by a cremation at the Caroni Cremation Site.

In lieu of flowers, an offering will be collected for the Chest and Heart Association of Trinidad and Tobago. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
