THREAD: This moment should be an awakening for all #AsianAmericans, regardless of political persuasion. It is a blunt reminder that regardless of whether we were born in the U.S., regardless of our national origins or citizenship, our racial status in the U.S. is precarious.

My favorite thing about being a professor is the extraordinary level of intellectual autonomy. Being able to choose exactly what to study, how to study it, and what kind of contribution I want to make is such a privilege and so fulfilling to me. 🙂

Keep writing. Don't get distracted. Don't get scared. Don't get overwhelmed. A few more sentences friends. A few more paragraphs. We'll get there. This is a pep talk for me as much as for anyone else but if you need the encouragement as much as I do, please know you're not alone.
