After attending numerous Road Safety events in India I’ve come to believe that ‘most’ are about Shock and Awe. Shock & awe about the numbers. 170k dead each year! 40% are youngsters! 1% of vehicles, but 11% of deaths! and so on… Action message: Wear helmet, Wear seatbelt.

Weaving between cars in traffic is called lane filtering, which is extremely risky. Avoid it as much as possible and just follow the vehicle in front. Constant overtaking puts you at high risk #RoadSafety

Naresh One effect of the heavy traffic is that small businesses are seeing fewer customers and their revenue is down. Customers dont want to come to their shop, restaurant etc and order online. To help small businesses, the traffic must be streamlined.

Overtaking has become a disease on Indian roads. Everybody is always trying to overtake the vehicle in front, even if it involves extreme risk. Solution: learn to follow the vehicle in front, unless it is going well below the speed limit.

Naresh We as a country are at our competetive best while driving! The aim of driving for us is not to get from point A to point B but to chase the vehicle we see in front, overtake it and keep repeating this cycle with the next one in line till we reach our destination.
