A lack of justices = a lack of justice.

The law putting a cap on the number of justices on the NYS Supreme Court has been in place since 1846, creating endless backlogs and forcing NYers to wait months or years for decisions in their trials. We must raise the cap now!

A ban on NPS employees attending Pride is outrageous and blatantly discriminatory. How can national parks allow this bigotry when Stonewall, the site of the historic LGBTQ+ uprising, is literally a national monument?

This ban must be reversed immediately!

Harvey Milk continues to inspire LGBTQ people to pursue public service. As a young gay man I was moved by his biography and his call for everyone to come out.

Yesterday, I passed a resolution in the Assembly designating May as AAPI Heritage Month🏮 I also joined NYS Assembly APA Task Force to host a celebration of AAPI Heritage with live performances & awards for honorees. Tony Simone and I presented a proclamation to Lily Fan, Chair of NYS Liquor Authority👏

My bill passed the Corporations Committee today, which will guarantee that the critical perspectives of riders on the MTA board continue. These voices are key to a functioning MTA, and they must stay on the board. Next step, passing the full Assembly!

I am outraged at the transphobic resolution passed by CECD2. CECs should be debating important education issues. The right of trans kids to exist with dignity is not one of them; it is an obvious, bigoted attack.

NYC Schools should be a safe space for trans youth-- which is why I'm joining fellow Manhattan elected officials in calling on CECD2 to rescind resolution #248 to send a clear message that trans students are welcome in our schools.
