Tombstone City Marshal Fred White decided two days of reckless shooting and drinking by a group called the Cowboys were enough. With his tolerance pushed to the edge, White took action to end it, but with tragic results. “A Morning of Regret” tomrizzo.com/morning-regret/

John Larn roamed the southwest as a cattle rustler and killer and served as a lawman for a year. But Larn was a man who embraced violence and evil. “A THIRST FOR BRUTALITY.” tomrizzo.com/thirst-brutali…

Andrew “Buckshot” Roberts rode to Blazer’s Mill, NM in early April 1878, unaware several gunmen awaited him. The Regulators, including Billy the Kid, had killed Sheriff William Brady in retaliation for shooting down rancher John Tunstall, which triggered the Lincoln County War.

Jesse James once told a newspaper "We are not thieves — we are bold robbers. It hurts me very much to be called a thief." In the spring of 1881, James and two others robbed a federal paymaster at gunpoint and made off with more than $5,000. tomrizzo.com/raid-at-blue-w…

Old West lawmen were elected to protect the communities they served and maintain law and order. But low pay and high risk didn't make the job all that attractive. “TIN STAR.” tomrizzo.com/tin-star/

“Vessels” Colored Pencil Pottery is any container made of clay. My inspiration for this is from Talavera—a Mexican and Spanish pottery tradition from Talavera de la Reina, in Spain, the major producer dating from the 16th to mid-18th century. Bright colors and diverse patterns.

“Obstruction” Colored Pencil Usually, I work from reference images, but this time, decided to wing it. The scene I originally had in mind was a beach and ocean, maybe a sandbar. My only boundaries were the four edges of the paper but with splashes of multiple colors.

“Storm Clouds” August 2023 PanPastel & Colored Pencil My first attempt combining colored pencil with "PanPastel"—soft pastel colors in a cake-like substance that can be applied like paint. A fun medium that requires some patience to achieve the level of brilliance I envisioned.
