I would like to thank all those who responded to my post about the 40th anniversary of Run with the Wind It was lovely to hear the happy memories so many people have of my fox books I hope upcoming generations will enjoy them just as much

Two lovely mentions for my Run with the Wind series of fox books recently - one by Dr Audrey Whitty director of the National Library in the Sunday Independent, the other by environmentalist Dr Eanna Ni Lamhna on the Ray D’Arcy show Thanks to you both!

My wife and I spotted this mumuration at 5 pm yesterday Sunday 4.2.2024 on the Dublin side of Carlow town Experts say starlings come together for protection but it seemed to us they we’re getting ready to roost for the night as many had already landed in the trees

The bees have discovered the flowers on our greengage The flowers come on the greengage before the leaves Unlike the hawthorn which has leaves first then the flowers

Delighted to get an advance copy of The Golden Hare by Paddy Donnelly from @ObrienPress It’s a lovely story with fabulous illustrations and young readers will have a wonderful time searching them for that elusive animal the golden hare

This little #dunnock flew into my friend Jonathan’s cafe #ernestoescoffee, Rathmines, crashed into one of the lamps. His son Conor picked it up and wrapped it in a towel. A quick flutter in his hand and then it flew off unharmed

We rescued this young robin from the cat It had lost quite a few tail feathers and was very traumatised My wife tucked it into a cloth in a shoe box but didn’t think it would survive However next morning it was out of the box and hopping around She took it outside and off it flew

Heard shrill call of seagulls and saw high in the clear blue sky three crows mobbing a buzzard. Too far to take a picture, so couldn’t say if they were rooks or jackdaws. Third or fourth time I’ve seen a buzzard over our house. Probably came from Dublin or Wicklow mountains
