So, the XF is better… functional… but still stinks of emissions. Working theories are, EGR cooler leaking (as it’s also losing a bit of coolant), butterfly valve gasket gone, actual connector gaskets or a purge valve. Back in the garage end of the month to find out.

Perplexing customer service. Went into Halfords to buy a bike today. They had 6 on display, 2 of each size. Asked if one can be ridden away immediately… no, apparently not. Weird, why would you have two of each? Ok, when can I collect, online says Friday. Monday morning.🙄🤯

July has been my busiest ever. Actually shattered. However, lifestyle changes are needed because production podge isn’t fun. New bike arrives on Monday, Boxster gearbox is out and being worked on and I WILL properly drive it this year - and I’m almost completely off fizzy drinks.

One disassembled gearbox and one cheeky dog tooth. That’ll be why second wouldn’t engage - on top of the synchro. Don’t buy old cars, they hurt your wallet.

Had a Grandland X 1.2 for a couple of days whilst wife’s car was fixed. Thought these engines were supposed to be frugal?

986 booked in for split rim refurb. £360, but it’s the only thing letting the car down now - besides the mysterious dent on the wing (and I have a puller for that anyway).

Went to a meet on Sunday, primarily to stop it from sitting around for weeks at a time. Wheel refurb end of the month, sorting paint soon AND filming something for Clean and Shiny x GYEON later this week.

Boxster has a mysterious dent on the wing, not a standard carpark area either. First attempt at dent pulling. 50% out already, final bit… not so easy.

Exporting 4K video on a 6 year old MBP is one of the slowest experiences in life. Especially when it gets stuck at 88% export. Need a new one. ASAP. 🤣

Boxster’s front wheels are well and truly cooked. The rears are near on perfect and both were refurbished at the same time. So, why do you think the fronts have failed so badly?

Very very tempted by some of the used Tesla offers at the moment. £225 a month for a ‘21 M3 LR AWD with c. 80k miles and no deposit on HP. Charger install at home is only £800 too. Jim Starling 🚘 tell me it’s a bad idea, please. 🤣

TV spontaneously died yesterday. A common Samsung UK fault, which costs more than just replacing the TV to repair… so £350 later with have a new TV. 🤪
