Today Year 9 students met with Senior Leaders to talk through a piece of work of which they are very proud. Students chose work from across the curriculum, and were able to articulate their feelings towards the work and what they had learned in the process. Well done, Year 9!

Record numbers of Yr11s signed-up for Easter Revision sessions in school next week Orchard Mead Academy. Oversubscribed each day, and teachers prepped for walking-talking-mocks. Rumour has it, the best sign-up in The Mead Educational Trust * … *this may not be factually accurate, but now true.

Well, Orchard Mead Academy, we have had over 250 sessions completed by Y11 this week already, and it's only Wednesday. Do we have a challenge?

Innovative plans afoot for this school, and we are just getting started. The students are ready to stepping up, with Yr11 exams ready to kick off. One to watch.

A special day being invited to the Leicester Rowing Annual Regatta and seeing Castle Mead Academy Rowing Club scholars competing against boats from all over the country. What started as a tentative plan alongside LRC President Liz Pulford a few years ago, exceeding expectations!

As others have commented why push phone use even more but more saddening is the loss of a huge communal highlight in the school year, that is truly special. When students knew about outcomes via UCAS, results days haven't been the same. This isn't where the money is going.

The third annual The Mead Educational Trust Secondary Principals Study Tour took us to Astrea Academy Woodfields. Having in previous years visited together an SEMH Special School and a couple of free schools, it was thought provoking to consider the impressive journey of Woodfields.
