As adults I think we sometimes forget this, but students need to taste success before they gain confidence, then they are more willing to try new or harder things. Even as adults if we don't feel successful, we lose confidence and may be less willing to try new or harder things.

It's possible to both talk to kids, identify underlying issues, AND hand out appropriate sanctions and consequences when needed. This shouldn't be controversial.

I’m sure this has been done to death already, but the ‘deliberate grade inflation by teachers’ narrative is so misinformed and disingenuous. The grades are those that teachers think students deserve without the quotas set by the sorting process of exams.

It has been more than two years since my last post on here. I am pretty sure I am genuinely happier for avoiding it. Should I give it another go??
