I am hiring for multiple postdoc positions for my new lab at University of Rochester, the most underrated city in the world ;-), in the areas of polymer chemistry for haptic interfaces, e-waste recycling, space junk remediation, and neuromorphic materials.

The first paper on stem cell extracellular vesicles from my lab, a new direction to pursue in many more years, and a nice collaboration with multiple labs at Upstate NY! Tom Gaborski SyracuseBMCE Upstate Research BioInspired Syracuse onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

Finished 4 weeks of work travel to different cities with a personal trip to the west coast to run a marathon w/ 2 of my sisters. I think I convinced them (and at least 2 spouses) to run VT50 back on the East coast next fall. #WorkLifeBalance

Had a great day until I slipped in the river and knocked my big toe kinda sideways. Did some self traction and resetting (not my first resetting rodeo - arm and little metatarsal previously). Still not perfect, but luckily ortho sister is coming up to camp with us 😆 🦴

Thought I reset it, but it still wasn’t straight. Rhiannon using her spousal powers and BME training put it back in place after a lot of laughing. Spousal powers prevented any yelling 😂 - I’m pretty sure we are wired different from most.

Teaching the kids how to replace a pulley and bearing after it explodes on them and destroys the belt while mowing the lawn. All’s well that ends well. While we’re at it let’s replace both idle pulleys and the belt. A little lazy mowing never hurt a sunrise.

With this video, Harold Daggot has done more damage to unions than Jimmy Hoffa and Lee Kuan Yew — combined. Threatening fellow Americans with losing *their* jobs if “his guys” don’t get a 77% raise while average Americans try to keep up with inflation is the peak of cutthroat

The very modern fear — every time a picture of me in a suit is posted online — that I’ll end up in a fashion do’s & don’ts thread by the menswear guy next to a photo of the impeccably dressed king of Spain

o3 makes me more confident than ever that bio is the best field to be in atm Software engineering isn't going to exist as a job in 5 years. Maybe people will do it as a hobby like woodworking

I was hoping to fly to Houston to visit Michael King and Cynthia Reinhart-King at Rice on my way to the KEEN conference, but in the world of air travel and snow removal - if Houston, TX looks like Rochester, NY, that is not allowed.

Today, NIH announced a new initiative to expand innovative, human-based science while reducing the use of animals in research. This aligns with U.S. FDA’s initiative to reduce testing in animals. bit.ly/4jYd4T2
