Oli Hoare. That’s the tweet. 🥇 Stunning. Topples two world champions to become the Commonwealth champion in 1500m. What a late charge after being boxed in.

Abbey Caldwell. Incredible. Bronze medal for the 21-year old national champion in her major championships debut. Gutsy run, barnstorming finish in the 1500m.

So close. Silver for Peter Bol. Gave himself every chance, and ran a smart race. Closed quickly carrying the weight of a nation. The defending champ Kinyamal goes back-to-back.

That acceleration from Beatrice Chebet was brutal from 200m out. Looked comfortable and then launched. Masterful. Takes the 5000m gold. Eilish McColgan adds silver to her 10,000m gold.

Bang. 6.95m. Brooke Buschkuehl jumps into the silver medal position in the Women’s Long Jump by 1cm. One round of jumping remains.

Back to back 🥈 for Brooke Buschkuehl. A 🚩 on her final jump. 6.95m her best ever performance in a major championship by 8cm, bettering WC2022. Has overcome so much. Magnificent. The 🥇 goes to 🇳🇬 Esme Brume (7.00m), the World Championship runner-up from Eugene.

Across two continents, just hours apart, 🇦🇺 men’s and women’s marathon records have fallen. Sinead Diver (2:21.34) takes down Benita Willis’ 16 yr old mark, while Brett Robinson (2:07.31) lowered Rob de Castella’s record of 36 years. What an era for distance running in AUS.

"Football is the common denominator of all people... it doesn't matter from what walk of life you come." Beautiful words from 'Gentlemen John' Schultz in 2015 that will forever resonate and speak to his kind nature ❤️ 🎥 Adi Brown
