No US president of modern times has adopted a more conciliatory posture than Barack Obama. It couldn't be any other way, for him to be elected in the first place, as a black man. The version of him Kelly is spinning here isn't just false, it's a Stalinist *reversal* of reality.

Sick of this nonsense. If a university is really telling students that "using it to support and structure assessments is permitted" then it doesn't deserve to call itself a university. That's a vital intellectual skill that will now not be learnt. theguardian.com/education/2025…

This Don’t litigate Britain isn’t broken. People think it is and think you were arguing the same 16 months ago. It’s not credible. Looks duplicitous and tin eared at best, Instead convince people it is fixable by showing them it is and making people feel it.

She did do. Then she was accused of using dogwhistles, cloaking hateful arguments in a cover of reasonableness, concern trolling etc. Stop pretending the issue is anything other than that you can't argue your position with the same thought and coherence jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-r…

What drives me crazy is these privileged detached celebs think they’re being “brave and stunning” — but parroting the most populist slogan in Hollywood, throwing on a pin, or cosplaying a Jordanian scarf is the safest thing you can do. That’s why they all do it.

The correct response would of course have been to expel Ireland, the Netherlands and Slovenia for making the threats in the first place. It’s shocking but unsurprising that Eurovision have instead chosen to endorse and enforce the threats.

Correct. And many on the right were making excuses and crying about cancel culture for a woman who called for migrants to be burnt. They’re now calling for the cancellation of a young man who celebrated someone’s death. Can’t have it both ways.

Danny Kruger's defection to Reform is significant - the first MP to defect their way in this Parliament. But it will, I suspect, also expose one of Reform's biggest problems: their ideological incoherence on almost every issue beyond immigration.

My assessment of current political parties Tories - right liberalism with oligarchic tendencies Reform - populist right national-liberalism Labour - progressive liberalism Lib Dems - same as Labour with added bungee jumping Liberals all the way down

I dunno, lads, I just think the political discourse needs to be more mature than a choice of 'Jews are Nazis and men are women' or 'Immigrants are paedos and disability benefits claimants are grifters'.
