TDOC is mourning the loss of Bledsoe County Correctional Complex Corporal Dennis Woodring, who passed away unexpectedly on July 25. “BCCX is honored to have had this true hero work alongside us and keep the communities of Tennessee safe,” BCCX Warden Brett Cobble said.

On 8/7/19, Correctional Administrator Debra K. Johnson was killed in the line of duty. She was a selfless leader, a kind & cherished friend, a positive role model, & a fierce advocate for rehabilitation. We're grateful for her 38 years with TDOC and continue to miss her each day.

Today, the Tennessee Department of Correction honors the sacrifice of Correctional Officer Wayne “Cotton” Morgan, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2005. Officer Morgan dedicated 28 years to TDOC, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, mentorship, and heroism.

It was graduation day at the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex! Dozens of inmates earned their High School Equivalency diplomas and Career and Technical Education certificates, which will help them obtain good jobs and be successful once they are released. 🎓⭐️
