Had a great time at #Botany2024! So many great talks, posters, conversations. Undergrad Megan Gauger rocked her first national conference poster! Honored to be a part of so many great projects. But I’m thinking me presenting two talks was one too many.

Pinguicula moranensis is a carnivorous plant growing here in Querétaro Mexico at 10,500' elevation with Quercus rugosa and Agave montana. The flowers are pollinated by lepidopterans.

Really glad that Dr. Tanisha M. Williams and I got to be a part of this one.

Monotropa uniflora is a holoparasite. Obtaining nutrients entirely from fungi in soil, it only emerges aboveground to flower when the conditions are right, and the flowers are white & ghosty. I lost my mind when I saw them yesterday! Any hike seeing Monotropa is a perfect hike!
