I understand the frustration with slow responses for these tiny Appalachian towns. This is a main thoroughfare connecting Damascus, Va to 5 other towns, and the North Carolina line. It’s just gone. Every route is like this in some way, shape or form.

I spoke with numerous first responders today, and they are working their asses off and don't care about conspiracy theories. There are 469 people (federal, state and local — not counting volunteers) on the ground in Haywood County alone working rescue and recovery operations
