(4:41pm) We have a few severe thunderstorm warnings that have recently popped up for large hail. I think we are in that "magic-hour" window where storms are using the peak-heat of the day. My expectation is storms will weaking around 5:30-6:30pm

(5:19pm) Plenty of lightning and heavy rain with this storm moving in to west Omaha. Severe level winds and any hail have weakened. Watch for ponding and standing water on roads like Dodge St and I-80, and any low-lying areas with poor drainage!

Quiet, milder weather continues around Omaha this evening. Not as cool overnight, but still below average for this time of year

This one hurts us all in the KOMU and Mizzou Journalism family. If you knew Ben, or got to meet him, he was GREAT. Just GREAT. Accomplished. And an even better family man. Extremely proud of his daughter, and loved his father/daughter STL Blues games.

I showed this on-air a few minutes ago. It felt more like a snowfall map when making it. But, yes. These are 'higher-end' rainfall numbers we could see over eastern Nebraska this weekend. The heaviest of the rain is Saturday night-Sunday afternoon

(Monday 3:30am) Just a heads up! The National Weather service issued a flood watch for Lincoln, Seward and Wahoo, Nebraska until 10am. We are seeing some very heavy, slow-moving rain just west of Omaha and 2 flash flood warnings been issued bc of it. We will probably see this in

Today was Omaha's 1st day in the 80s, this month! The first 10 days of September in Omaha were VERY mild and featured an average high of 74.5º, which is nearly 9-10 degrees below normal. The next 10 days? MUCH warmer! Including a few 90 degree days mixed in there

🏈🏈🏈 Definitely a warm evening for high school football around Omaha this evening, and we may still be carrying a heat index through 8-9pm. Temps will be in the mid 80s for most of our games, and it will be breezy at times, too

RAIN IS BACK! Pop-up thundershowers are scattered around Omaha this afternoon, and will move off to our northeast this evening. The main wave of storms is out in west Nebraska and will move in tonight after 2-3am, leading to a stormy start to Wednesday. Some of these Wednesday

(Thursday 3:30pm) It will be a rainy evening around/south of Omaha. Small hail is possible in a few of these cells. I expect the rain to clear up around midnight. More rain moves back in Friday afternoon, lasting through Friday night/Saturday morning

Ya know. I thought I was spoiled getting to watch Bonds, McGwire and Pujols growing up. Then Ohtani comes along as takes greatness to another level
