With all the woes of the world, we need glimpses of beauty. With a feeling a spring in the air, dawn by the House was special this morning. The light clouds have already burnt off. Sydney is feeling good.

I usually take pics of urban lanes before I take dawn shots (that is in the dark), but I flipped it this morning. What do you think of James Street in Sydney’s Redfern with some natural light about?

A balmy night had me open the window wide last night to then be woken by a chilly early morning. That chill may have been responsible for the empty ocean pool at Sydney’s Clovelly Beach. Dawn was lovely and a lovely warm day ahead.

I asked if you prefer day or night urban shots - the answer was clear. Bourke Road starts near Sydney Airport, becomes Bourke Street in Green Square and culminates at the Harbour in Woolloomooloo. This part is in Redfern (so it’s Bourke Street).

Spring has sprung, and as this day begun, I waited for the sun. Well, not really, as I prefer dawn colours rather than sunrise glare. A classic start to the new season as I perch above Sydney’s famous Bondi Icebergs ocean pool.

There was a brief but beautiful orange dawn glow this morning. Here it is at the Garden Island Navy Base on Sydney Harbour. For locals in the know, I still miss Derrick the old giant crane that used to dominate this scene.

My local is in another suburb, but 100m from my house. Bar Cleveland is on the corner of Cleveland and Bourke Streets, it’s s a fine place for a beer, but upstairs is a particularly good restaurant - Sofia. Great Greek inspired food, but you need to book.

#DavidLittleproud said, on #ABC 2/09/2024 Afternoon Briefing*, these exact words: "Well, on all seven locations, the majority of people living in these locations that we're proposing for 'nuclear' power plants to take over from transition from coal-fired power stations support

Did I speak too soon? It felt really cold out early this morning, with wind chill it felt like zero. So maybe winter still has its claws out. The ANZAC Bridge and the glassy waters of Blackwattle Bay made my heart warm.

The Brett Whiteley Studio is closed until next year for accessibility renovations, but we can still enjoy the exterior. Located at Raper Street in Sydney suburb of Surry Hills, it’s is a wonderful homage to this great Australian artist.

I posted the other day that I prefer predawn colours to a sunrise. So I thought I’d better test my statement. This Sydney sunrise was complimented by a range of cloud types. I think the drama was great, colours strong, but still maintain my predawn desires.

I’m no prude, but this is a still from an ad I got while playing a game on a popular platform - it’s an all ages game. Maybe I’m too old, but this seems wrong on a kids game.

I’ve posted dawn pics of the Sydney Opera House, Parliament House, Admiralty House and Kirribilli House, never have I posted a set of two pigeon houses. This dawn scene comes from Cleveland Street in Surry Hills.

Light clouds brush across the dawn sky at Sydney’s Maroubra Beach as some tourists await sunrise. Also a local going in for a cool dip.

Did anyone else clock Jane Hume on ABC Breakfast? Seems we need tax relief for the rich, higher productivity from the poor and $100B taken out of government spending to sort our woes. She’s such a chook!

Peter Dutton has lashed out at the Climate Change Authority for rubbishing his Nuclear plans & insists the only way to “keep the lights on” is to wait for decades so he can roll out & implement his uncosted & fully taxpayer funded Nuclear fantasy. How is he not embarrassed?🤦‍♂️

Sydney’s Double Bay sits of few kilometres east of the Harbour Bridge and while property prices are high, the dawn views are free. Lovely feel in the air this morning before a hot day.

For a really odd reason, I drove more than 5 hours down to Narooma last night, heading back to Sydney this afternoon. Even on a cloudy damp day, this is the best place in the world. Am I thinking of a sea change?
