Want to do a PhD investigating eco-physiological traits of fish that prepare them for climate change? Competitive DUPR scholarships available through Deakin University! DM me if you have a relevant background and strong academic record. Please RT! #fishsci deakin.edu.au/study/fees-and…

Incredibly proud of Michael Skeeles for submitting his awesome PhD thesis! Lots of hurdles along the way, including arriving in Oz immediately before ~18 months of COVID lockdowns, but he totally smashed it! 🙌🏼💪🏽

For those still on here, I'm super stoked to see this one out there! 🐟🔥🤏 Timothy Clark Hanna Scheuffele Deakin SEBE @deakinresearch Supplemental oxygen does not improve growth but can enhance reproductive capacity of fish royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/full/10.10… A thread below 🧵1/n

Huge undertaking by Michael Skeeles to raise fish for a year with or without supplemental oxygen to see whether it enhanced growth rates & supported the gill-oxygen limitation hypothesis. It didn’t! BUT, a cool finding RE oxygen extending the reproductive window!

Our new encyclopedia chapter Effects of Climate Warming is out! It’s a broad review covering acute and chronic effects of warming on fish physiology. I’ll break it down below. Rasmus Ern Robin Leeuwis Timothy Clark

Its long been assumed that a reduction in the SDA will provide more ‘free’ energy for allocation to animal growth. In our JEB commentary, we are proposing the exact opposite: that a larger SDA might actually be indicative of better growth performance journals.biologists.com/jeb/article-ab…

Excited about sharing our new paper Timothy Clark @wut_a_hoot – my first paper: "Hyperoxia disproportionally benefits the aerobic performance of large fish at elevated temperature" doi.org/10.1242/jeb.24…

Come work with me and some great folks at Trent (Graham Raby) and DFO! Applications will be received until Nov 8.
