Huge undertaking by Michael Skeeles to raise fish for a year with or without supplemental oxygen to see whether it enhanced growth rates & supported the gill-oxygen limitation hypothesis. It didn’t! BUT, a cool finding RE oxygen extending the reproductive window!

Its long been assumed that a reduction in the SDA will provide more ‘free’ energy for allocation to animal growth. In our JEB commentary, we are proposing the exact opposite: that a larger SDA might actually be indicative of better growth performance journals.biologists.com/jeb/article-ab…
