RCGP attended the launch of Doctors In Distress in NI. This event was to highlight the importance of promoting mental wellbeing and preventing suicide among doctors and all healthcare professionals.

As a Royal College we do not comment on contract negotiations but how could I look someone in the eye who has phoned their GP 115 times without success and say “yeah I think there is enough funding for general practice”

While we welcome initiatives to get our patients the care they need, the additional work this creates cannot be landed on GPs with no discussion. We have asked SPPG to withdraw the guidance they have issued to GPs on the WL reimbursement scheme.
