The KW Multicultural Centre has been helping newcomers get a warm welcome to our community since 1967. This summer, a group of talented young Canadians have helped continue delivering on that mission thanks through the #CanadaSummerJobs program. It was great to meet you all!

The Wilmot Family Resource Centre has served our townships for 4+ decades. I had the chance to visit and sit in on one of their many amazing programs. I also met their #CanadaSummerJobs students, who have done great work this summer—and have somehow kept up with those kids!

Accessing mental health care can be a challenge in rural areas. The Interfaith Counseling Centre in New Hamburg bridges that gap, providing vital support. It was great to meet Abby, their #CanadaSummerJobs student, and hear about their important work.

The Canadian Dental Care Plan is making a real difference for Canadians in Kitchener-Conestoga and across the country! 👏

The #CanadaSummerJobs program helped create 181 jobs for youth at 59 local non-profits and businesses in Kitchener-Conestoga this year, investing $700K in our community 👏 These jobs give young Canadians valuable experience, helping them gain skills & confidence for the future.

Our federal government is working hard to make childcare accessible and affordable for families here in Kitchener-Conestoga and across the country!

What a pleasure it was to join Grand River Friendship Society (GRFS) for their Intercultural Dialogue Picnic. It was a delightful showcase of Turkish cuisine, music, and meaningful conversations. Thank you for letting me experience a bit of your amazing culture.

Today, we celebrate the rich and vibrant cultures of people of African descent and honor their invaluable contributions to Kitchener-Conestoga and Canada. Together, we can continue to build a stronger, safer, more diverse, and inclusive society for all.

Big thanks to the Waterloo Labour Council for hosting another fantastic Labour Day picnic yesterday! I enjoyed meeting and chatting with some of the hundreds of people who came out for food, entertainment, and a little labour education on a sunny day ☀️

School’s back, and so is preparing daily lunches. It’s why our National School Food Program matters. It will: ✅ help support students in Kitchener-Conestoga and across Canada ✅ give parents peace of mind ✅ ensure kids get the nutrition they need to thrive in the classroom

During my visit to the seniors at AgeCare Elmira, I met Allie, a remarkable soul who gave decades to this fantastic seniors' community. She told me about how our federal Canadian Dental Care Plan is helping her with her oral care needs. I was glad to hear it - she's earned it!

I joined Senator Rob Black to tour the Pickering Federal Lands. The Land Over Landings advocates have worked tirelessly to protect 9,600 acres of prime farmland. I support saving the remaining 9,000 acres at risk of being developed. We must continue to protect our farmland!
