People are complaining about the 5 yr timeline for the Ethereum Beam Chain, so let me explain: Ethereum is not some random alt-L1 with very little activity. It is the second largest blockchain in the world with 60B in TVL, an underlying asset worth 400B, and thousands of apps

After sleeping on it I've somewhat changed my mind. We should still prototype quick but deploy slowly and carefully, a lot of money is at stake. There is no need to rush, the rest of the Ethereum ecosystem can still accelerate regardless of this.

Incredible to still see people putting together metric/usage comparisons between Ethereum and other layer 1's but completely excluding layer 2 metrics! You are not a serious person if you do this.

Seems like the only real issue people have with the Beam Chain is the proposed timeline to get it built. I believe the timeline Justin gave is incredibly conservative and it can probably be built much faster. If you want to help build it you can email [email protected]
