Completely open-source and temperature stable LAMP method for pathogen detection! Expensive proprietary enzymes and mastermixes, begone! Check out the paper/press release 👇

Almost exactly two years ago at the tumor biology meeting CSHL Meetings you made this exact point very nicely (in the context of cancer biology). Bears repeating!!

Neat study! I feel extra prepared to read this having just returned from the CSHL Meetings Tumor Biology conference. I appreciate the measured and careful approach linking metabolism and ECM, instead of the "everything affects everything" kitchen sink approach.

Too many of these kinds of pie in the sky visionary posts & too few that actually provide balanced views of phenomenal achievements & the 10000s of caveats to taking it even one step further. We live in an age of hype. I really ache to find serious science discourse.

This is great news. As I’ve complained to anyone who will listen, cancer research has severely de-incentivized research on fundamentals of cell biology. Tony has a long history in this area 🎉

Fantastic people and scientists!! I recall several dinners hosted by Marsha and Geoff (respectively) for student recruitment. A highlight of my time at UChicago Biological Sciences thanks to these folks!

I fear the public will never truly realize the immense damage done to our scientific research system and its consequences. A loss of ~$4.5 billion in frozen or cancelled grants with at least 148 impacted clinical trials = 138,000 patients due to be enrolled or already enrolled.

Misha Teplitskiy | Science of Science If you want to encourage people to make up fake data of thin air, that's a highly effective way to do so. (Not even quibbling on IF being a measure of journals; there is no "paper with an impact factor").
