We urgently need your help to protect Hickory Hill! A community greenspace in South Richmond, one of few, is in jeopardy because the city wants to pave over a soccer field to build a polluting 3-story burn tower on it. YOU CAN HELP STOP IT!

I didn’t understand the appeal of NPR’s science Friday at first, but now I’m like “oh hell yeah, it’s cephalopod week!” #ScienceFriyay

Loan forgiveness for billionaires? Constitutional. Loan forgiveness for students facing astronomical costs for college degrees? Unconstitutional. Seems billionaires are getting good returns on their investments in Alito and Thomas. #StudentDebtForgiveness

Summer isn't a good time to plant new trees, but we'll back at it this Fall! Planting more trees is a great way to bring temperatures down & provide shady areas for residents to catch a break from the sun's rays. Stay tuned for upcoming tree planting projects & tree giveaways!

In case you're wondering, TC Energy and Columbia Gas are trying to expand and enlarge a pipeline in Hampton Roads... This story is further proof that building new Natural Gas pipelines is like -- literally -- playing with fire #NoVRP #NoPipelines #NOMVP apnews.com/article/gas-pi…

Ratepayers shouldn’t be punished for poor investments of a monopoly utility, nor should they be forced to pick up the tab for more costly polluting projects that harm communities and conflict with state law. Dominion’s IRP (plans) asks for both.

Amazon's data center facilities, when up and running, have emergency generators that can produce almost enough backup electrical capacity to light up all of NYC on an average day, Ellen Bryant Thomas & Daniel Geiger write: businessinsider.com/amazon-data-ce… via @businessinsider

The word ‘lobbyist’ can send chills down some people’s spines. But in #VALeg, where a part time legislature leaves little time for elected officials to dive deep, they serve an important role. Greg Habeeb Tim Cywinski Marty Martinez wvtf.org/news/2023-12-2…

It’s irresponsible for leaders to turn their backs on a successful program that protects people from pollution. Even with ongoing court cases, #RGGI is a public good that holds polluters accountable, lowers electric bills, and strengthens our communities.

Plans to build new, expensive polluting power plants in Virginia are the result of unchecked AI data centers growth in Va. If the tech industry is smart as they claim to be, it can find a way to develop data centers without harming health and economic security of Va’s families.

NEW from me: I spoke with Abigail Spanberger and Winsome Earle-Sears about how they’d handle #valeg’s data center future. They bring 💰💰and new trade jobs, but “no one wants to live near them.” IBEW666 Sierra Club Virginia Chapter Tim Cywinski wvtf.org/news/2025-07-1…

“I’d love to talk to these folks…”?! He should have done that before he voted to sell out our rural hospitals. You don’t get to start the fire & then brag about bringing a bucket of water. Rep. Rob Wittman helped create this mess—he doesn’t get credit for pretending to clean it up.

Tim Cywinski (@timcywinski) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Ignoring a problem doesn’t solve it—that’s common sense. One in eight Virginians goes hungry. Where’s the sense in that? Trump cut a billion dollars in food aid, and Rep. Rob Wittman supported it. That makes no sense. The only sense left is to fire Rob Wittman.

Rob Wittman is busy fundraising while the government teeters on shutdown. If only families about to lose health care, or federal workers & service members about to miss a paycheck, could just pay $500 for access—maybe Rob would fight for them instead of special interests.
