To my mind, this is one of the most beautiful autochromes ever taken: a study of artists on the banks of the Dordogne near Beaulieu in France. The light, colour & composition is a work of art in itself. It was taken in colour 98 years ago, in 1925, by Jules Gervais-Courtellemont.

The BBC Birmingham & Black Country car ready for me to report on Swansea v Walsall FC in 1990. It broke Stan Blandford’s run of games. S Wales avoided snow, the team went the night before & the game was one of very few played. We took BBC Radio Wales commentary. #snow #walsall #saddlers #football

What a heartbreaking story. One in 300 people isn’t really that rare for a condition that has had far too little attention or funding. #mnd #als bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Wolves v Everton wasn’t a classic but there was more than enough to suggest Vitor Pereira’s team will survive. They showed good spirit to come back from going a goal down against an in-form team & were well worth the point, even without Cunha. They should make it to safety.

Vitor Pereira’s done a wonderful job at Wolves. Some say it shows how bad a job Gary O’Neil was doing, but I think that’s profoundly unfair on Pereira. This was not a team of world beaters just waiting to be unleashed. This is survival based on astute management #wolves

Bit of justice there. Palace should already be winning against Aston Villa Great goal - even Anthony Taylor couldn’t find a reason to rule that one out. #facup

It’s not really true to say that Wolves have “nothing to play for.” Each EPL spot is worth around £3m and with Fosun very unlikely to splash much cash again this summer the difference between finishing 13th and 17th is a staggering £15m. That could make a huge difference.

It’s pretty easy to follow the big teams in professional football. It’s harder to commit all that emotional energy & love to teams that are much smaller. So the loyal fans of Walsall FC deserve a wonderful day out at Wembley tomorrow. Come On You Saddlers! #walsall #saddlers

We all want road safety and flowing traffic but some variable speed limits do feel like over-management. We just joined the M42 Northbound from the M40 & there’ve been SEVEN changes of speed limit inside the first four miles. I’m unclear how this is helpful to anyone.
