Often asked “how are the amphibians going?”. After 10 years of working this out, along with 100s of other dedicated people, we have an unfortunate answer: not great. BUT with ramped up research and conservation that could still change!

this is a #blackcaiman captured at night with our #DJIMatrice using thermal infrared camera. #UAV imagery has proven to be a useful tool for #crocodile #conservation and provides valuable data for our #caiman project in #frenchguiana🐊🇬🇫 National Geographic Society Paleo Project French Guiana Universität Wien

Biogeographic realms aren't merely vast stretches of land; they're unique ecological zones teeming with distinct amphibian species. Influenced by factors like climate and geography, these realms are pivotal for ASA. Why?⬇️

Making sure I get some call recordings in for #FrogIDweek. If you’re in Australia, download the FrogID app. It’s fun, free, helps you identify frogs and helps researchers study and conserve them!

🚨 New research led by Australian Museum’ @tomoparkin used #FrogID data to help scientifically describe two new frog species: the South Australian Tree Frog (Litoria calliscelis) and Kangaroo Island Tree Frog (Litoria sibilus). Your FrogID app is now updated! 📲 australian.museum/blog/amri-news…

I really love glass frogs. I guess that’s how I went from never having seen one to being the top observer of this one on #inaturalist in three months 😂

Lots of appetite to hear about women in herpetology at #WCH10. Next time let’s value this better by scheduling it in a bigger room.

#AcademicTwitter is there a kinder place for us to be? What took off? Mastodon? blue sky? Is threads already the domain of influencers?
