Baghdady was a pillar of support when my kids needed it most. His kindness went far beyond the work… making us feel at home. Thank you for everything… enjoy this new chapter! Sir 💙🙏🏼

Proportion, please. I have never seen a trans woman in a ladies loo. And even if there were one, if they use the cubicle, wash hands and leave, all good. But I have seen women assault women in loos. No violence, no perviness, no problem.

Just one photo from today. I loved the evening light on the head stone and the shadows. Duhallow A.D.S. Cemetery, Ypres. Visited after Last Post. Remembering just one soldier here.

A question for historical sleuths. I’m finishing a book on the men and women of the FO in WWII. In the FCDO archives, there is this 1941 photo labelled ‘Anthony Eden’s Personal Private Secretary’. My source who worked in Eden’s office from 1943 doesn’t recognise her. Who is she?

I have visited 70 countries and lived for a decade in developing countries. I need two booster jabs for travel; know which ones. I have had to fill in an utterly irrelevant form, and now have a triage call with a nurse before i can get an appointment. The NHS wastes so much time.

I’m in London this weekend. Contrary to X posts, the streets are litter-free, the Tube trains graffiti-free, it looks fabulous in the sunshine and everyone is enjoying themselves peacefully. I’m still alive and haven’t been robbed.

If you like this thread, please repost it, in hope that someone, somewhere in govt takes up at least some of these ideas. There’s plenty our govt could do. Plenty they SHOULD do. Let’s build the case. Mount the pressure. Not let them get away with inaction.

Most women know what it’s like to hold back tears at work. That doesn’t make you weak; it means you’re carrying more than most will ever see.

I would like to see an end to politics as soap opera. An end to personalising every issue. An end to speculation about sackings and resignations. An end to calling everything you disagree with a lie or a catastrophe. A focus on balanced reporting and policy debates. Please 🙏
