Extremely excited about the beta release of our brand-new Allen Brain Cell (ABC) Atlas web portal! Currently it includes an scRNA-seq dataset & a MERFISH dataset, each with ~4M cells, representing ~5200 clusters in the whole mouse brain. It is based on biorxiv.org/content/10.110….

I had the idea a whole back for a dog cloning service. Send in wad of your departed dear pet's hair, 3 pictures, and $100,000. I'll clone* your dog. *Get you a rescue that looks pretty close and blame the rest on "epigenetics"

In collaboration with the Dulac lab, we developed 3D MERFISH for volumetric imaging of thick-tissue slices up to 200um. A useful tool to facilitate the integration of functional and morphological measurements with spatial genomics in the future. Preprint: doi.org/10.1101/2023.0…

we love microscopy because it allows us to dive right into a cell and observe what's happening in this fundamental unit of life. with confocal iSCAT we can see even nanoscopic cellular structures, live and label-free in their native environment! nature.com/articles/s4146… 🧵1/6

Did you know that the tiniest insects in the world have no nuclei in over 95% of their CNS neurons? Despite this apparent "deficit" , they still go about their lives flying, feeding and searching for hosts. A 🧵#entomology #neuroscience

What is resolution in an image? It is not the number of pixels. Here’s the classical Rayleigh’s criterion taught in basic physics: 1/5

Internet friends, I’m thrilled to share our work out today in nature! We've developed a label-free, single-molecule method using high-finesse microcavities, enabling us to profile molecules in solution. 1/10 nature.com/articles/s4158…

No. This is not acceptable. The methods section is the single most important part of a scientific paper. If those details are relegated to supplementary materials, then it's not a scientific paper in a scientific journal.
