Children in school today have took part in a book swap for World Book Day! They’re all going home with a new book to read and a voucher to spend at participating retailers.

What an amazing array of costumes today! Super celebrations as always.. Birch won the house cup.🏆 Rufus gets to spend the week in Cheetahs.📚Punctual Pete has finally found a new home in Snow Leopards.We celebrated our swimmers, Kurling event children and our Bikers this week.

To celebrate World Book day, The Little Acorns came over to join in the celebrations. Children in Year 5 made a cosy corner and shared a picture book with them. The older children pointed things out and asked them to show them their favourite pictures and parts of the story.

A fabulous range of character costumes were on show today in school for our World Book Dressing Up Day. Well done everyone - you looked fantastic!

Fantastic cakes created by the children in support of Red Nose Day. Well done to everyone - judging is going to be tough! The cakes will be sold after school in our Year 2 Pandas classroom.

Thringstone Bake Off was a brilliant success. From selling your superb and scrumpy cakes, we have (so far) raised £236.85 for Red Nose Day! Well done to all who participated in any way. What great teamwork for a good cause.

Well done to our Y4/5 football team. A 2-1 win against Measham St Charles. Superb teamwork and determination shown by every single player.Thank you to all parents too. Both away support and home support created a really positive atmosphere for the children.

Some of our Year 5/6 children had a great time orienteering in Donisthorpe Woods today. Thanks to North West Leicestershire School Sports Partnership as always it ran like clockwork! NWLSSP

Our ‘Bee Netball’ team. All children had to rotate and play every position, even swapping at half time. A super achievement winning and scoring goals. They won 2 and lost 1. As always great attitude as well as skills on show representing Thringstone. NWLSSP

So proud of our Year 3 & 4 children in the Quad Kids Final. Each child had to run 400m & 50m, and take part in a throwing and jumping event. Teamwork, respect & support were displayed throughout. Thank you to our fantastic parents who cheered the children on so enthusiastically.

Year 5/6 quad kids tonight. So very proud of the children involved. What a busy time, with 4 events. The children showed such determination and there was an amazing team spirit, shouting and cheering each other and other teams. Thanks NWLSSP
