In our latest blog post Dr Beatrice Alex shows how the marked up text underlying our digital edition can be used as a dataset. Have a look at the initial results of her computational text analysis. #DH thornton.kdl.kcl.ac.uk/posts/blog/202…

10 Sept. 1645 #OTD Alice Thornton’s sister, Lady Danby, died at her house in Thorpe, about a month after the delivery of her 16th child. She was buried at night in St Mary’s, Masham ‘by reason of the Parliament soldiers and Scots who would not let a sermon be preached’ (Bk1). 1/2

Many thanks to Cordelia Beattie for a fantastic sold out talk on Women's Lives in the 17th century at #GawthorpeHall. And this was our first event in the Servant's Hall, with its beautiful wooden beams and no need to climb the stairs!
