I really like the addition of pending UFA Lafferty in this deal for the Blackhawks. By acquiring his rights, even for a few days, it sends a message he is wanted in Chicago before he can hear offers elsewhere. (at least that’s my take). He’s a quality depth player.

Very intrigued to see what the return on Marino would be. 3 years at 4.4 is enticing IMO. Frank Seravalli could this be a plan B for clubs striking out on Matt Roy…or do you get the sense they prefer to move him before July.1 for FA flexibility?

A very productive draft weekend for the #isles future. Full disclosure- I don’t know these players. With that said, it’s an eclectic mix of prospects. Picking 3 times in the top 2 rounds is a very healthy addition to a thin prospect pool.

Perennial rebuilders, no more. Picks and prospects for years on end. I like how GM Armstrong parlayed those assets into quality players. Did he wait a year too long, or is he early? The timing seems right. I’d like to see a top end forward added to the mix in Utah.

I’d put Bean high on my list of unqualified RFA options With the right fit, I think he provides adequate bottom pair capability with upside at being a 4/5 D if he takes a step

Very surprised to see Lizotte wasn’t qualified. Valuable role player, tireless worker. He’s going to be a nice addition for whomever gets him.

Very impressive day from the Blackhawks. Quality vets and a couple 1 year contracts that could be turned into assets. Timing by GM Davidson to add vets to his youth feels appropriate. Also a win for Luke Richardson and Seth Jones.

Best of luck to Aho in Pitt. 5th round pick that turned in 190 games for the #isles. That’s impressive. Undersized, but ultra competitive. Pittsburgh Penguins are getting a very versatile player. Plays both sides equally well.

GM Zito looking to replicate his defensive FA adds from last summer? A good start with Schmidt on a cheap deal. Have to think he adds another before the season (or makes a bigger move). He’s shown he knows when to let players walk and he knows where to find value.

Perron, pound for pound, is one of the best puck protectors in the game. Excellent along the walls and with the puck in and around his feet.
