Statement from CANY's Damien Cornwell on licensing fee waivers for cannabis cultivators:

(1/3) The state has promised to issue 1500 licenses this year. We, the CANY Board of Directors, believe those licenses should be issued as quickly as possible. Internal discussion in the industry is circulating about the expansion of the licensing pool beyond that number.

(2/3) Based on the current pace of licensing to date, we are suggesting that any new expansion should be based on data driven research and at a minimum, should have input from our members, industry operators and stakeholders.

(1/4) A survey of CANY members conducted in June highlighted concerns over supply issues, however, overall found optimism among operators.

(2/4) This is our first of what will be quarterly surveys of our members as we work to understand their concerns and continuously find ways to support them.
