At some point, Tim Elko does have to show he can consistently hit Major League pitching in order to stick. He’s already 26. Gotta be a meritocracy.

Andrew Vaughn is now hitting .211 at AAA For comparison’s sake, Korey Lee—who couldn’t stick at the big league level—is hitting .327 Corey Julks, who also couldn’t stick, is hitting .324 with a .408 OBP Brooks Baldwin has a 1.188 OPS. Vaughn might be done.

Two leadoff singles stranded as Grant Taylor pivots and recovers for a scoreless outing. Along the way, he collected his first big-league strikeout, zipping a fastball past former Cub Victor Caratini

Miguel Vargas deserves a ton of credit this year. He was put into arguably the worst trade situation maybe ever—going from the eventual World champs to the worst team of all time. Instead of continuing to mope, he’s worked hard on his game and the improvements are evident

I dont like the Andrew Vaughn trade at all Id rather take a Hail Mary on him figuring it out than acquire an over-the-hill arm who—at his absolute best—might take us from 40 games back to 37 GB by year’s end Apparently, the franchise annually in playoff contention agrees

.271/.321/.429 at age 24: “He was never good” “No eyebrow albino lookin azz” “Children of the corn mfer” .242/.322/.433 at age 25: “Deserves to be an All-Star” “Future of the franchise” “Great hair”

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I’d be a fan of the MLB introducing a designation just below the Hall of Fame (call it the Hall of Great). No reason the careers of players like Jose Abreu, Anthony Rizzo, Paul Konerko, Moises Alou and Jermaine Dye don’t deserve recognition

I exclusively use Twitter to discuss sports, mostly Chicago sports. I never tweet about politics or politicians and even ask those mentioning politics in the comments to refrain. My feed is still 95% the most ridiculous kind of right-wing propaganda. Elon Musk ruined this app.

I don’t think White Sox fans have a realistic view of how hard Chris Getz got fleeced on the Fedde/Kopech trade. Fedde had a sub-3.00 ERA when we traded him. He’s the top starter on a team competing for a wild card spot. We gave up him AND Kopech for essentially just Vargas

Still think Shane Smith gets the nod for the All-Star game, but it’s definitely not a lock anymore. Nevertheless, a sub-3.00 ERA talks.

Brooks Baldwin will be back up permanently once the White Sox part ways with Michael A. Taylor, Vinny Capra, and/or Josh Rojas, whether it’s via trade or designation With that said, he has to show progress at the Major League Level. You just cannot go 10+ ABs without a hit here.

It’s plain that White Sox fans confuse extracting proper value with winning or losing a trade. You can get proper value and lose a trade (i.e the Sale trade) But, hypothetically, trading the top pick for a sixth rounder, is not proper value, even if you find a Tom Brady in R6.

Just because Brooks Baldwin is obliterating AAA pitching doesnt mean Lenyn Sosa doesnt deserve a spot on the ML roster. May seem like forever ago, but Sosa also hammered AAA pitching (.507 SLG at age 23 — Baldwin is currently a year older) But Sosa hits also hits in the Majors

This Sox team really isn’t any better than last year’s squad to be honest. At some point, the Sox need a consistent star. Not the crazy athlete that looks the part but is fundamentally flawed. Not the OBP machine guy. But a guy capable of barreling any and every pitcher.
