Volo LCBO Doug Ford It’s worth noting that the LCBO also drastically inflates the prices of non-VQA wine and cider when licensees buy it directly from local wineries. When a licensee buys cider or non-VQA wine directly from an Ontario producer, the LCBO takes 40% of that sale. For doing nothing.

Volo LCBO Doug Ford We would be able to offer much better prices to licensees if this wasn’t the case. They don’t take this % from breweries that sell to licensees. Just cideries and non-VQA wineries.

This is the letter we sent our Minister Of Finance Rod Phillips regarding wholesale alcohol pricing for bars and restaurants In Ontario. Our industry and supporters need to collectively address this issue. Please e-mail your local MP and spread the word. #skipthelcbo

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan controls about $200 billion in assets, and owns nearly 200 Wine Rack stores. Wine Rack can deliver wine without food, yet small family-run wine shops must sell food with wine. One set of rules for a wealthy pension fund; another for regular people.

From now on, when Ontario announces new lockdown measures, it should also announce the removal of red tape for small business. If all restaurants and bars are closed tomorrow, it must *immediately* end the unfair wholesale pricing ban for private alcohol retailers.

Ontario needs to throw a bone to small business before there aren't any left. It can start by killing the punitive LCBO markup and allow private retailers to buy alcohol at wholesale price. Politicians ought not privilege a government agency over consumers, workers, and business.

I admitted a dozen COVID patients to the ICU last week that were eligible for the AstraZeneca vaccine. Didn’t get it because of (exaggerated) concerns with that vaccine, or issues with booking a vaccine. Now fighting for their lives. People: get any vaccine you can, ASAP

Important read by Corey Mintz tvo.org/article/please… “Please make life as easy as possible for restaurateurs. They are hanging by a thread, and they do not have the time, patience, or money for more bureaucracy.”

Retweet if you agree that our governments should send a package of rapid tests & N95 masks to every household, every week, for free.
