initially thought it was birthday problem, but: Literally 1 in 960 (0.1%) since both events use the same starting position for all games in the round.

This is most likely a fantastic book. Once upon a time, I spent many delightful hours reading Dana's blog instead of doing a boring finance job

Nice post by Luciana Morales (momsgambit) on Chess.com with notes from me and others. Before GothamChess and the Botez sisters, we had Jeremy Silman. He taught me the weird secrets of a board game and made it fun. chess.com/blog/Chessable…

No. Just go do stuff, pay attention and learn from it incrementally. 98% of How to Blablabla with Anyone is a lie. Starting Strength is an exception, and Robert Greene is good (and nowhere near as cynical as his reputation), but both are just adjuncts to you actually doing shit

A non-hit piece about a Starting Strength gym (one specifically focused on elderly people lifting barbells, no less) in the New York Times. Did we heal the nation?

Typical funny moment at a chess meetup recently when a guy and I had both forgotten each other's names, but both remembered the King's Gambit and English Defense blitz games we played six months ago
