I'm an imperfectionist

I think the word "passion" should be reserved for the bedroom.

I like to ask my classes big open ended questions like: what did you do this weekend? Then they sit there and stare at me thinking: if I sit here long enough he's just going to tell us what we did on the weekend.

Would Auston Matthews just for once tell the reporters that the number 70 is all he can think about? Like it's all he's been dreaming about since he started playing hockey. He only ever drives 70km/h, he only wanted 70% on tests in school and he only plans on living to 70 years old!!

School is about collecting enough facts to prove a point. To lean "that." It should be about asking enough questions to learn about an issue. To learn "how" or "why."

Confirmation Bias persists because the education system has conditioned us to believe that "knowing" is more valuable than "learning." Our ego is protected when we reject info that does not align with what we think we already know, so we don't ask "dumb" questions.
