28C this Friday afternoon in London roughly 8C above average. Going from July atmosphere although sun is much weaker now to October one in 48 hours. Highs probably 15C at best in London on Sunday and grey with cool northerly wind.

27.4C (81F) at Heathrow earlier today marginally warmer than 27.3C on the 7th making it the hottest day of month. It’s latest >27C temperature in London in 14 years since late September 2011, which would go on to delivering record October heat on 1st with 28.8C at this site and

A wetter than average first half to September in some places notably so but the second half is favoured to be drier than average. Much greater high pressure influence although temperatures are unlikely to be anything special with continental easterly influence.
