Today we also remember St. Augustine Yi Kwang-hon. In his youth, he led a degenerate life, particularly when it came to drinking. When he heard the Gospel, he chose to be baptized and never desired wine again. He and his wife, daughter, and his brother were martyred.

Finally we remember St. Agatha Kim-Agi. When interrogated by the police commissioner he asked her if it was true that she believed what the Catholic religion teaches. She answered, “I don’t know anything but Jesus and Mary.” She was beheaded and became a martyr at age 52.

It is also the Feast Day of St. Joseph Chang Song-Jib. He was a Korean pharmacist who converted at about 53 yrs. When a governor commissioner demanded he deny his faith, Joseph described the Catholic faith. He received a beating of twenty blows and died in prison the next day.
