It looks like a still from the #WickerMan but it was taken on the 14th April 1924, during a break from the rain at the inauguration of Fenton Park. In opening the park, with a gold key, Mayor Frank Collis said "It looks like someone has made the desert smile." Stoke-on-Trent CC

Proudly listened to my dad announce his planned retirement from BBC Stoke & Staffordshire at the end of this football season. 54 years - mainly commentating on #StokeCity. Heโ€™s never had a contract. Not bad for a (now retired) teacher doing a bit of weekend freelancing.

#OnThisDay 3/1/83 PORT VALE 2 Greenhoff, Moss YORK CITY 1 Jimmy Greenhoff & ex colleague Dennis Smith after the win v York in old Div4. His goal was one of the best seen at Vale Park. A corner played out to him, he volleyed it into the roof of the net from the edge of the box!

As we start the New Year we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us in 2022 & helped feed 2427 people in December. We continue in 2023, working towards achieving our vision to end the need for food banks - meanwhile we will be here for those that need us๐Ÿ’š

We are saddened to report the passing of Graham Eason aged 79, Graham was a much loved figure and volunteer around the club from inception in 1966. The players paid tribute on Monday with a minutes silence and the wearing of black armbands. All our love to Sue and family.

Thanks Stoke City FC for doing this. Your non football staff can never control results, but they are Premier League in their own role. Very thankful to see my Dad @ The 365 one last time ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Stoke-on-Trent. The home of: 1) The world's finest pottery. 2) The inventor of the Spitfire. 3) The largest collection of temporary traffic lights and roadworks in the entire universe. It's ridiculous. ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ
