Ata Madanchi's first paper is out in The Journal of Chemical Physics doi.org/10.1063/5.0174… in which he upgrades our algo for generative modeling of amorphous materials to multi-elemental 3D and samples rare water motifs! A fun collaboration with Thomas D. Kühne Michael Kilgour and Frederik Zysk.
I managed to squeeze in one more hike with Lena Simine before the opening mixer, where I got to meet Doran I. G. B(ennett) Raccah Tuckerman Group Andrés Montoya-Castillo and many others! Now onward to the science 🤟
It’s been a pleasure hosting everyone for M&MS in McGill for fantastic science and discussions with Lena Simine! Thanks to our sponsors McGill Science, McGill Chemistry and Nutromics.
3 articles and 1 message: for Canada & its children’s future prosperity it’s critical Canada invest much more in research
This is done by investing in highly competitive programs like NSERC Discovery that let the most impactful research rise François-Philippe Champagne (FPC) 🇨🇦

Check out arxiv.org/pdf/2301.04277… where we upgrade a method we call 'the MAP' to tackle the problem of generating well sampled multi-elemental very disordered molecular structures in 3D. Tested on liquid water and an ice nucleus with Thomas D. Kühne.. works surprisingly well! :)
New Year's resolution 2023: to diversify that RNA/DNA portfolio! :) Our paper on how to better search for useful nucleic acid sequences is now out in Jose Onuchic's Festschrift in The Journal of Physical Chemistry B. Happy new year! pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102…
