I'm going to take a break from new series and work on some of the backlog of ongoing series. I have to finish the new Dresden File books and a few other series.

My next series will be Emerilia by Michael Chatfield. A story set in an VRMMORPG Tolkienesque world where all is not as it seems. It's a popular theme but this one had a big twist...

Just finish book 11 of the Emerilia series. The interplay between the different elements of magic and science was very well done. The characters while not terribly unique were engaging. It was a solid "B" tier

My next series will be Harmony War by Michael Chatfield. Its a story of war in a universe with no FTL. Cryosleep is the only way to survive the incredibly long voyages for those on board only hrs passed while decades pass for those they left behind.

I've finished book 5 of The Harmony War series. It was a very good example of doing a lot with a little. Following soldiers as they rush from one battle to the next should be hard to make anything more than a pure action story. But it manages to make a nuanced story it "A" tier

My next series will be Chaos Seed by Aleron Kong. It is a another vrmmorpg but with the whole reborn in another world arc. The story centers on one mad mage as he trys to protect his new life and friends.

Just finished book 8 in the Chaos Seed series and I must say it was a novel experience. The writing style lends itself to the Rpg game format very well making a fun experience without drowning you in exposition. It's a Solid "A" tier

My next series will be New Era Online by Shemer Kuznits. It's yet another VRMMORPG style series, I'm on a bit of a binge. There are some other classic gimmicks, such as the Mc being trapped in the game, and forcibly having been turned into a Goblin.

Just finish book 5 in the New Era Online series. The story is compelling and has several twists. The mc does a very good job of showing how hard it was to stay sane as he spent years trapped in a game. It's a high "B" teir

My next series will be Viridian Gate by James Hunter. It tells the tale of a mc that digitised his mind to escape the end of the world. He soon finds that what he had thought was a refuge will soon become a warzone.

Just finished book 4 of the Viridian Gate series. The series did a good job of making the depression of the end of the world believable without being stifling. The mc is kind of lack luster but the antagonist was very well written. It's a low "B" tier

My next series will be The Divine Dungeon by Dakota Krout. It follows the life of a man who was transformed into a dungeon and a sheep herder who sees an opportunity to escape from the toil of his current life.

Just finished book 5 of the Divine Dungeon series. The story is unique and engaging, the world is rich without making you feel like your out of your depth. There is a lot of good in this series and so it's easy for me to say it's "A" teir

My next series will be The World by Jason Cheek. The story follows the exploits of a progamer in a recently released VRMMORPG. It kind of funny that all the other series I've read have had some additional gimmick. This however is just a game even if it feels real.

Just finished book 5 of the World series by Jason Cheek. It was a fun ride, tho it a basic gamelit, that worked in its favor. The story could focus more on the difficulties of having to live in two world that both seem real. A low "B" teir

My next series will be Eden's Gate by Edward Brody. It follows the mc who was trapped in a game along with his girlfriend on launch day. The world may seem like a wonderland but there is great danger hiding everywhere.

The Red Bear (@theredbear9) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Finished Eden's Gate it was a fun ride. It razed a lot of questions about what you would do if you were no longer a physical person. There is a solid story and characters. It's "B" tier

The Red Bear (@theredbear9) 's Twitter Profile Photo

My next series will be Belisarius by Eric Flint and David Drake. It follows a battle between two faction in the distant future that spills backward in time. Belisarius is a Roman general during the reign of Justinian.

Just finished book 6 of The Belisarius Saga. The loyalty to the historical record is incredible and is probably the most fun you've had learning history. The mc is last great general of Rome who finds out that all his victories could not save his empire. It's "S" tier

My next series will be Nantucket by S. M. Stirling. It follows the town of Nantucket located off the northeastern coast of the U.S. After they are thrown back to the late bronze age. How will they reshape history with the 3000yrs of progress they possess?
